New wood Surfaces
Important things to know when painting
- Always follow the instructions on the product label for best results.
- Preparation and correct product application are important.
- There are no short-cuts.
- Always follow the correct drying time recommendations.
- Keep the room well ventilated when using an oil-based/solvent based paint.
- Do not paint exterior surfaces when rain is expected within 4 hours after paint application.
- Do not paint if surface temperatures are below 10 or above 30°C
- Do not paint exterior surfaces in windy conditions.
Interior – Paint
1. Sand wood in direction of grain to smooth.
2. Fill surface imperfections with a wood filler, let dry and sand to smooth.
3. Dust properly and apply one coat “NEO Pink Wood Primer” and let dry for 24 hours (very cold or humid conditions let dry for 48 hours).
4. Apply one coat “NEO Universal Undercoat” and let dry for 6 hours.
5. Apply two coats “NEO Dur High Gloss Enamel (SABS – SANS 630 type 2)” allowing 24 hours drying time between coats.
6. Apply with brush, Mohair/Sponge Roller or spray.
7. Cleaning Solvent use “NEO Mineral Turpentine”
1. Sand wood in direction of grain to smooth.

2. Fill surface imperfections with a wood filler, let dry and sand to smooth.
3. Dust properly and apply one coat “NEO Plastic Varnish Gloss” diluted with 10% “NEO Mineral Turpentine” and let dry for 6 hours.
4. Sand lightly to smooth and dust properly.
5. Apply two coats of “NEO Plastic Varnish Gloss” undiluted; sand between coats and allow each coat to dry for 6 hours.
6. Apply with brush or spray.
7. Cleaning Solvent use “NEO Mineral Turpentine”
1. Prepare and spot prime with one coat “Neo Zinc Chromate Primer” or similar approved product, apply one coat “Neo Universal Undercoat” or similar approved product and two coats “Neo Silk Enamel” or similar approved product.
2. Sand wood in direction of grain to smooth.
3. Fill surface imperfections with a wood filler, let dry and sand to smooth.
4. Dust properly and apply one coat “NEO Plastic Varnish Suede” diluted with 10% “NEO Mineral Turpentine” and let dry for 6 hours.
5. Sand lightly to smooth and dust properly.
6. Apply two coats of “NEO PLastic Varnish Suede” undiluted; sand between coats and allow each coat to dry for 6 hours.
7. Apply with brush or spray.
8. Cleaning Solvent use “NEO Mineral Turpentine”

5. Apply two coats of “NEO Woodcoating Gloss” undiluted; sand between coats and allow each coat to dry for 24 hours.
6. Apply with brush.

6. Apply with brush.
7. Cleaning Solvent use “NEO Mineral Turpentine”
Renovations wood
Interior – Paint
1. Remove any blistering and peeling paint by means of scraper.
2. Sand existing paint to mat. Dust properly with damp cloth.
3. Spot prime bare wood with one coat “NEO Pink Wood Primer” and let dry for 24 hours (very cold or humid conditions let dry for 48 hours).
4. Apply one coat “NEO Universal Undercoat” over whole surface and let dry for 6 hours.
5. Apply two coats”NEO Dur High Gloss Enamel (SABS – SANS 630 type 2)” allowing 24 hours drying time between coats.
6. Apply with brush, Mohair/Sponge Roller or spray.
